CHEVROLET

Chevrolet — brand of the cars made and realized by economically independent division of the same name of General Motors corporation.
Chevrolet is the most popular among concern brands, in 2007 about 2,6 million cars were realized.
The company of Chevrolet was created on November 3, 1911 by William Dyurant who has also founded in 1908 the General Motors company, with the known racer both the automobile engineer Louis Shevrole and investors — William Littl and Edwin Campbell. The company was called in honor of Louis Shevrole who in that far time, there was in racing team a Buick. He was David Byyuik's favourite racer.
In Europe the brand was officially presented in 2005. Under a brand of Chevrolet the South Korean Daewoo models are on sale mainly.
By the end of 2015 the gradual termination of car sales of Chevrolet in Europe is planned. Instead the GM concern intends to advance the European brands — Opel and Vauxhall, and also to expand a dealer network of a bonus brand of Cadillac. It is supposed to leave the Chevrolet brand only for sign and status American models (such as Corvette). This strategy, however, won't concern Russia and other CIS countries where Chevrolet will keep the positions.
The first car of brand, "Chevrolet T-90", appeared in Russia in 1911 and had the 4,9 liters six-cylinder engine with a power of 30 horsepowers. The maximum speed of the car equaled to 105 kilometers per hour.
Today in the market of Russia under a brand of Chevrolet models of the Korean origin (such as Spark, Aveo, Lacetti, Orlando, Epica, Evanda and others), Daewoos initially bearing a brand are on sale generally. But as "Daewoo" associates in Russia with models of lower price group issued in Uzbekistan — "Matiza" and "Nexias", it caused renaming.
Besides cars of the American production, such, as the Tahoe SUV, a sedan of Malibu and the sports Camaro [5] car are presented not related technologically.
Also the GM-AVTOVAZ joint venture specially for the Russian market makes the Chevrolet Niva car (based on model VAZ-2123), and till 2008 under the name of Chevrolet Viva Opel Astra G was issued.
Following the results of 2010 of Chevrolet became the most sold foreign trademark among new automobile and easy commercial cars in Russia (116 233 pieces or +11,34% in relation to 2009).
